I suggest the support page thread on windows vista operating systems. Bcd2000 so, instead of a bcd2000 lovefest of simple customisation, the first thing i encountered online as a new bcd owner was this 14 page thread on the native instruments forum about getting the bcd2000 jog wheels to work correctly with traktor.

I hope this helps perhaps someone who knows much better at how this midi stuff can be adapted to work with VDJ.Download Now B-CONTROL DEEJAY BCD2000 DRIVERĬontrols plus a b-control deejay bcd2000 mic preamp with traktor. It seems to me that it's 'do-able' with VDJ too.Īnyway if you want to do some reading, here it is (the forum that is). They used Bome's midi translator and midi yoke together to make it work (along with mapping the midi code). I followed all instructions and had the Behringer work perfectly with the Traktor software.

I don't like it as much as VDJ nor Atomix, but I tested it only because they had a forum just for the Behringer BCD-2000 and how to set it up.
It didn't work for me It was too complicated.Īnyway, I did some research (lots of googling) and found a forum for another DJ program called Traktor (30 day trial). I tried the Bome's midi translator but I guess I didn't get it to work with the key shortcuts either. Some of the buttons I got to work, but few. I had trouble getting the pitch sliders to work as well as the volume, jog wheels and eq dials. I recieved my Behringer a couple of days ago and tried to get it to work with the key shortcuts (as I understand this is the only way to do it). I hope so, because if we can work through the quirky issues, I believe that this could be a good low cost option. My 2 cents.this unit is very new to the marketplace and the VDJ dev team will have to decide whether or not they are going to provide native support for the BCD2000. Not going to do too much more with this until there is some stability with the BCD2000 and VDJ (hopefully soon?).
Certainly better than using the mouse! Havn't tried the 'talkover' mic function yet. Wheel is a little small and the sensitivity is not that great. Not sure what was happening there and I didn't really care anyhow. I found the latency to be negligible (on the lowest ASIO setting), however the sound quality was terrible about 50% of the time.

I did load the DJ software that came with the unit (B-DJ) just to see if all of the functions worked as advertised. This could be due to an incorrect MIDI assignment, but I do not believe so. One major flaw that I found is that VDJ just stops playing randomly when you have this unit hooked up. The quality of the unit is average (it is Behringer after all), and that is what I expected. I did get some of the more basic functions to work.and they seemed to work pretty well (when VDJ didn't lock up).Īfter turning on the 'advanced' setting in the BCD2000 driver (supposedly to turn on LED control), I found that you had to hit each button twice to turn the LED on/off.
As stated before, it is not possible to assign the cue/jog/scratch wheel to any function as they used incremental MIDI values (+1, -1, etc.). I could not find any way to get the LED's to light on the BCD2000 in conjunction with the MIDI commands. After playing around manually assigning the MIDI no's to the functions for over 6hrs I finally gave up. I picked up the BCD2000 from my supplier yesterday.
